If you are ready for a website, one of the biggest questions to answer is what type of site you need. WordPress is a content management system that we love. Content management systems allow you to go in and make changes to the content yourself without calling a developer every time you want to make a change. WordPress is open source and flexible, but do you need it? The answer to that is maybe… It really depends on what you want to do.
If you want to be able to make changes to content yourself, then you probably want a content management system. Anyone who wants to have a blog, run regular business specials, or update their website on a regular basis from their own computer will benefit from a content management system like WordPress.
That sounds great, so why might you not want a WordPress site? Well, if you don’t want to make changes and don’t even want to have to think about your website once it is up, you might want a static site. WordPress and its plugins also require regular updates. These are not difficult, but you just might not want to deal with them, especially if you are not already adding content. If you want WordPress, but don’t want to have to deal with updates, many developers, like us, offer website management.
So, do you need a WordPress site? It really is just up to you and your individual needs.
